It’s that time of year when happy families become sworn enemies thanks to football rivalries. With the Auburn-Georgia game this weekend, one family is hoping to maintain the peace - regardless of the outcome.

Start by setting the scene: we love using blue and white porcelain jars - a traditional staple that is easily personalized. We really consider these a neutral element…even when your guests are not. Use two similarly sized jars, like our 12” dragon jars, as the vessel for floral arrangements and style one for each team. Red berries, such as winterberries, are ideal for UGA; while fall leaves, orange flowers and tan branches make the perfect pairing with blue and white dragon jar for the War Eagles. Continue the theme (and rivalry) with linen cocktail napkins embroidered with team mascots.

For cocktails, we’re sipping on a new favorite tequila drink you may not have heard of - the Fake Sauvignon. It’s a bright, refreshing cocktail to welcome Fall and can be prepared in a pitcher so guests can help themselves. Serve it in our clear rocks glasses (hand etched with stripes) and garnish with a pear.

For appetizers, you can never go wrong with a pimento cheese spread, and our pewter revere bowls and pewter cracker "boat" are the perfect vehicles. Alternatively, you could also keep it simple with a trio of peanuts, potato chips and olives. No prep and always a hit.

To serve your drinks and cocktails, we recommend our scalloped rattan tray. It is elevated yet practical and the color creates the perfect neutral palette for your food and drink.

Have fun executing your game plan and post a pic tagging #halfpastsevenhome when you do!
