Partner Spotlight: Rose Ann Hall Designs

In honor of Small Business Saturday, we are pleased to feature one our beloved partners, Rose Ann Hall Designs (RAHD) out of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Under the direction of Charlie Hall (RAHD is named for his mother), RAHD not only creates stunning hand-etched glassware pieces and hand-dipped candles, but also serves as a safe haven employer for disenfranchised individuals in the region, particularly physically disabled individuals, domestic abuse victims, and school drop outs.

Charlie, an American, was born with a rare congenital condition, Moebius Syndrome, that left him with facial paralysis and arms that end at his elbows. But these disabilities did not stop him from growing RAHD and building an inclusive workplace culture. He and his team are dedicated to helping their employees "grow as individuals and address the issues they face in life," reflecting their deep commitment to social responsibility and community support.

The story of RAHD's Head of Human Resources is a testament to the transformative potential of this business. Her journey, from having no formal education after middle school to earning a master's degree in psychology, is a powerful example of how the RAHD empowers its employees to overcome challenges and values their growth as individuals. She stayed with RAHD all throughout her education, serving in a variety of roles, and now with her masters degree is further able to support employees regardless of the challenges they face. She is a testament to the supportive and inclusive environment that RAHD cultivates.

In celebration of Small Business Saturday, we are launching our new Signature 7 Rocks and Water Glasses. Hand-etched with Half Past Seven's "fern and dot" design, these glasses are especially close to our hearts. Thank you for supporting small businesses like Half Past Seven, who in turn are able to support other small businesses like Rose Ann Hall Designs. Together we are able to keep the magic of handmade pieces alive!
