How She Hosts: Jacklene Creekmore of Modafleur

Jacklene, the founder of Modafleur, has been interested in fashion since childhood. From a young age, getting dressed was her canvas for creative expression. Her love for florals, patterns, and vibrant colors is the cornerstone of Modafleur's unique collections, which span clothing, jewelry, and colorful table linens. Jacklene's passion lies in designing pieces that empower women to feel beautiful, stand out, and, most importantly, embrace their most authentic selves. Through Modafleur, she invites women to express their individuality with confidence and grace.

How do you like to entertain? My favorite way to entertain is hosting gatherings around my dining table, where the night is filled with games and great conversation. I love being able to engage with everyone without feeling rushed to leave. The best part is when we move to the living room, where the fun continues with dancing or playing games. At my last dinner party, we even had a glitter bar, which was a huge hit!

What are you serving? My favorite menu I have done at a dinner party is when we did a custom salad bar! We had all the toppings you could possibly want!

What are you sipping? Vodka soda always

What are you wearing? Our Modafleur Jasper skirt, a white ribbed tank, and our Modafleur color hoop earrings!

What are you listening to? A custom playlist to fit the theme of the night.

How do you make your guests feel special? How do you make them feel at home? I really try to set the mood of the night with my tablescape. We have apps and drinks for a while before we move to my dining room for dinner. I try to include a special element to the night, whether it's someone doing glitter designs, a little gift, or trying out a fun new Chef.

If you are hosting a dinner, what is your go-to centerpiece? Colorful and unique flowers mixed in with bold tapers and anything else to fit the theme of the night. At my last dinner party I put greenery in the chandelier and it turned out better than I could have imagined and transformed my dining room into a flower garden!

How do you end a celebration? Playing games and dancing!

What would be your favorite Half Past Seven product to entertain with? The Bird & Flower Planter, the Lettuce Leaf Vase and the Starry Rocks Glasses in Citron

Let’s play this or that…

  • Charger OR Placemat: Placemat! I could buy a million placements in every shape and color.
  • Stemmed OR Stem-less: Stemmed
  • Red OR White: White
  • Tablecloth OR Bare: Modafleur tablecloth of course!
  • Votives OR Taper Candle: Both! Love Tapers to add fun colors and height to a tablescape and then votives to help set the mood.
  • Formal OR Informal: Informal. I always have fun more casual dinner parties.
