The Set Up: Galentine's Brunch

The Set Up: Galentine's Brunch

Occasion: “galentines” brunch

Location: dining room

Must Haves: pink & red, champagne, whimsy

What a fun submission! We really enjoyed thinking about how much fun we would each have, gathering our best girlfriends for a delicious brunch in the middle of cold February (for many of us, at least). We loved the “must have” of pink, red and whimsy and hope we inspired you with this Set Up.

For the table, we love a layered look and think starting with a pink or red tablecloth is feminine and fun. We love this one from Julia Amory. Since this is brunch, we’re skipping votives as we’d likely not light them, but are going to use our hurricanes… and fill the bases with Valentine's candy. To encourage conversation, we’re going with our low bud vases. We love things in odd numbers, so we’ll do the three rounds of the trio. Alternatively, you could do one center arrangement in our Lettuce Vase if that is more your style (and it’s finally back in stock!). Spread the rest of your Valentine's candy between the hurricanes and vases. It’s playful and edible!

A big surprise here, we would include our rattan chargers or placemats (protect that pretty pink tablecloth) and would use our rattan coasters for any pre-brunch cocktails. With so much color on your table, we would stick with white plates. But don’t go buy any… we’ve got a little something up our sleeves (wink wink)!

When it comes to food and drink, we would serve a kir royale (or pink prosecco) to kick things off. It’s a fun (and very simple) take on champagne and the pink color is perfect with this theme (especially when served with our Darling Date Night Bundle... our Bubbles Ice Bucket bundled with a pair of our Bubbles Champagne Glasses). If you have the bandwidth to have fresh squeezed juice it is always appreciated and guests could make themselves a mimosa if kir wasn’t their favorite. Serve the juice (or sparkling water) in our Starry Rocks. Hopefully the kir royale is a hit, but if not, we’d have a chilled bottle or two of Sancerre just in case. We love brunch and would serve a slew of waffles, pastries, muffins, Barefoot Contessa’s quiche, fruit and possibly a light green salad (depending on the time of day). Pro tip: serve the waffles in our best-selling Cracker Boat. Keep it simple… your friends will just be thrilled to be together!
