How She Hosts: Hannah Hale Redfern of Kilte

Meet Hannah Hale Redfern of Kilte... "For me, everything changed in October, 2017, when my daughter was born. My world shifted from pre-motherhood—where I had worked in fashion and finance for years—to the joyful and sometimes scary reality of caring for a wonderful new human.

Not only was my day-to-day new, so was my perspective. My existing wardrobe and personal style didn’t match my new world. Nor did the old version of my career. I spoke with hundreds of women in a similar position and discovered that they felt the same way. With insight and thought came inspiration: a new approach to style, and a business built to offer a flexible work life to women in retail.

That inspiration became Kilte. A collection and a company made for the woman who isn’t one thing—a mother, a partner, a friend, a colleague—but rather who is all of those things and more. That’s me and those are the women I admire."

How do you like to entertain? We have a large outdoor dining table that seats 16. In the Summer I love to host outside with cocktails under our pergola, followed by a seated dinner and dessert. Always dancing and dessert afterwards!

What are you serving? In the Summer, something light! Salad, fish and lemon sorbet (ideally served in whole lemons).

What are you sipping? Lemon Drops (love a theme)!

What are you wearing? This Summer, I’ll be wearing a Coco Shop dress, Susana Vega earrings and a Kilte Cardigan draped over my shoulders.

What are you listening to? Nancy Meyer’s Kitchen (on Spotify)

How do you make your guests feel special? How do you make them feel at home? I love hosting dinner parties at our home and take great pride in seating arrangements. I like to mix up guests and give them the chance to form new relationships and better get to know guests they may have only met in passing.

If you are hosting a dinner, what is your go-to centerpiece? Seasonal flowers that match the mood of the dinner party

How do you end a celebration? Dancing in our family room

What would be your favorite Half Past Seven product to entertain with? The original Lettuce Leaf Vase in Blue and the Rattan Champagne Bucket.
